Hi! When does the internship start and end?

Great question! The 2010 Summer Internship Program at Hallmark runs May 17 to August 6, 2010.

I am applying for the creative/animation internship, and I noticed that neither mov. nor swf. format is allowed for the portfolio upload. I was wondering how I could send in my demo reel?

Hi! Thanks for your question!

mov and swf files are allowed and should be uploaded to apply for the Interactive/Animation as well as the Web Design internships.

I know the wording on the site says we only accept jpgs and PDFS, so it's a bit confusing. Please upload a mov or swf file that's less than 20MB and it should work fine. I'll work on getting the file type wording changed on our website so it's less confusing. Hope this info helps. Let me know if you have problems.

My name is Brooke Mundy and I just submitted my portfolio for a possible internship with the Hallmark Writing and Editorial program this summer. I am writing to you because I did not realize the first time I submitted my portfolio that you can create another tab in order to submit your writing samples separately, and I submitted my portfolio again with both my portfolio and writing samples attached. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and wanted to see if the creative internship recruiters could disregard my first submission and only accept the second. Thank you so much for your time and again I apologize for the inconvenience. Have a great day!

Hey, Brooke-
No worries about uploading your information twice. Our system will marry your two applications, and we are able to see the most recent upload first, which sounds like it's the corrected one. Thanks for the heads up and good luck!

Thank you Bess! I was so worried that if I sent in two copies, the second one would be disregarded. Whew I feel so much better! :) Thank you so much for getting back to me, have a great day!

Sincerely, Brooke

Hello, I had a question about the demo reel and portfolio submission for animation. Is it preferred to have the images presented as a slide show with the demo reel, or to upload the .mov file and the jpgs separately? I just want to make sure I do it right.Thank you so much!

Great question!
Definitely upload the .mov file separately from the jpgs. It is required that you have at least 5 still images and also a .mov (or swf) file to apply for the internship. If you combine your still images into your .mov file, you will not meet the requirements to be considered.

The specifications for an internship say to provide 10 pieces in a design portfolio. Is this a minimum or maximum? Can we go over this amount?

Also, is there a direct contact we should address our cover letter to?

Thank you!

Hi, is there a specific time frame that we should get our applications in by? I found out about this internship a bit late. Thanks!

The deadline to apply is today, Monday, March 1st. So you have until midnight.

I applied for one of your internships and remember reading somewhere that you will notify us of our application status today. Is this still the case? And will it be through email or paper mail?
